We are the oldest boat shops on the Costa Brava
For families who want to fully enjoy the sea, in their own boat. Are we talking about you?
We believe that dreams do come true. And if your dream is to sail a boat, we want to help you fulfill that dream.
Our mission is to find the boat that suits you and then accompany you, so you can enjoy it safely.
This has been our family’s occupation for over 80 years. So, rest assured, we can clear up any questions you may have right now.
Our names are Roger and Julie, and we’re the third generation of the Palau family, which has been at the head of Jopa Nàutica since 1936.
When you come to Jopa, you’ll feel right at home because we know what our customers value the most: family-like treatment and constant support. All you have to do is to get your loved ones together and set sail.
We know that buying a boat is an important decision for you.
Will I know how to choose the right one? Will we enjoy it comfortably and safely? Will the maintenance overwhelm me?
You probably ask yourself all these questions and more. That’s why we want you to know that you’ll have the right advice to choose a boat, all the technical support for maintenance and even a place to keep your boat in the winter when you’re not going to sail.
If you have all the information, everything will be fine.
Sign up and receive maintenance tips and all the relevant news on all the brands.
How many times have you imagined yourself on your boat feeling the wind on your face?
Just you and your loved ones, something to nibble on and the sea as a witness of memories that will last forever.
We love the sea as much as you do. We know that feeling you’re looking for. So, we work with trusted brands, qualified technical staff and offer comprehensive services from buying to customizing your boat as well as maintenance, insurance and financing to make it happen.
Our story began in L’Escala more than 80 years ago.
Our grandfather, Joaquim Palau, founded Jopa Náutica in 1936 as a naval engineering company.
He designed and manufactured small engines that were sold for three decades from Port Bou to Algeciras.
In the 70s, his son Abel took the reins and built our current facilities, specializing in recreational boating.
Now we’re the ones our family’s story with Roger Palau, mechanical engineer, leading the way.
